BHPian fasttrack recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Trip Summary: Mumbai (Andheri) > Bahuli Dam > Camel Valley > Tropical Retreat, Igatpuri > Dhammagiri > Tringalwadi Fort > Vaitarna Dam > Trimbakeshwar > Anjani Mata Mandir > Mumbai (via NH160 & Shahpur Interchange)Total Distance: About 480 kmPassengers: Family of 4 (2 adults + 2 kids)Car:Brezza 2024 LXI Petrol | AC on throughout | Fully loaded boot Pre-Trip Thoughts Picked up the Brezza LXI in Oct 2024 during Navratri, primarily for city runs and occasional getaways. While it’s the base variant, I’ve added a few essentials-seat covers, armrest, and the urbano kit and floor mats. Mumbai to Igatpuri via Samruddhi Mahamarg We left Andheri at 7 AM sharp. The route was straightforward: Western Express > Ghodbunder > Samruddhi Mahamarg. Once we hit the expressway, the Brezza settled into a comfortable rhythm between 100-120 km/h. The car felt planted even at triple-digit speeds – no floatiness or nervousness. Suspension tuning is mature; it soaked up expansion joints and minor undulations without drama. The steering is light but predictable. Lane changes were smooth, and braking felt confident even with a full load. We reached Igatpuri by 9:15 AM, averaging 16.6 km/l on the MID. Exploring Igatpuri Before Check-In Since check-in was at 2 PM, we headed straight to Bahuli Dam. The drive was scenic, and the approach road was manageable. Spent about 25 minutes soaking in the panoramic views-clear blue skies, calm waters, and zero crowd. Next, we drove to Camel Valley Point. A short walk led us to a stunning valley view. By now, the sun was high and the heat was setting in, so we returned to the resort by 11:30 AM. Tropical Retreat – First Impressions Rooms weren’t ready, so we spent 40 minutes in their games room – pool, carrom, foosball, chess, TT, and air hockey. Kids loved it. Once checked in, we relaxed and headed for lunch at Ambrosia Restaurant. Mr. Maan was courteous and walked us through their menu and combo offers. Food was excellent-well-seasoned, generous portions, and served hot. Day 2 – Local Sightseeing & Surprise Encounter Started with a hearty breakfast at Ambrosia. Visited Dhammagiri, Ashoka Sthamb, and the temple at Tringalwadi Fort. The trek was enjoyable – moderate incline, great views, and a dash of history. Returned to the resort by 3 PM for lunch. To our surprise, a cabinet minister was dining there with his security entourage. The restaurant was buzzing, but service remained prompt. Evening was spent doing adventure activities and a relaxed swim. Dinner was again top-notch, with Mr. Maan and Mr. Ayan ensuring everything was to our liking. Day 3 – Spiritual Trail & Return Journey Started with a morning swim and a heavy breakfast. Checked out by 11:30 AM and drove to Vaitarna Dam View Point – 360 scenic beauty, worth the detour. Continued to Trimbakeshwar Temple for darshan, then to Anjani Mata Mandir. Lunch was at Rajasthani Rajwadi, who graciously served us post-hours. Food was authentic and satisfying. The return journey was via NH160. Missed the Samruddhi entry and rejoined at Shahpur. Thane traffic was brutal – crawled till Powai and reached home by 11 PM. MID showed 14.5 km/l for the return leg. Final Thoughts on the Brezza LXIHighway Stability: Excellent for a subcompact SUV. No nervousness at speed.Suspension: Balanced – neither too firm nor floaty.Fuel Efficiency: Respectable considering AC use, load, and terrain.Comfort: Rear seat comfort is good; kids had no complaints.Boot Space: Easily swallowed 3 bags + sports equipment and light snacks bag.======================= We have booked Kia Carens Clavis EV – HTX ER, expecting its delivery within next 5 days, will post a review of the same in coming weeks for my next trip.
