2025 Ford Puma Revealed – The Perfect Balance of Fun and Practicality!

Ford’s decision to discontinue the Fiesta last year left many confused, especially given its popularity. However, it makes sense when you consider the rise of the Puma, which has taken the spotlight. The Puma delivers on fun, practicality, affordability, and solid features, filling the gap left by the Fiesta.

The 2025 Ford Puma has received significant upgrades, addressing some issues from its 2019 relaunch. Tech lovers will be pleased with the new 12-inch display paired with Ford’s latest SYNC4 infotainment system. It’s faster, more responsive, and easy to navigate, making it a huge improvement from the earlier model. However, the introduction of climate controls into the touchscreen may frustrate some who prefer physical buttons.

The 12.8-inch driver’s display is a standout feature, replacing the old, much smaller screen and offering easy navigation through various readouts. The new steering wheel design, although unconventional at first glance, feels surprisingly natural while driving.

While the technology is a significant leap forward, the interior’s quality remains unchanged. The dash and center console, reminiscent of the current-generation Focus, feature too many hard surfaces. Still, the Puma continues to be highly practical, with a large 456-liter trunk that expands to 1,216 liters when the rear seats are folded. It even has a hidden storage compartment known as the ‘Megabox,’ perfect for keeping muddy items separate, complete with a drain plug for easy cleaning.

On the exterior, don’t expect major changes. The most noticeable updates include a relocated front badge and some fresh color and wheel options. Engine choices remain similar as well, with the Puma available only as a front-wheel-drive vehicle. Buyers can choose between a 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with either 123 or 153 horsepower. Sadly, Ford has discontinued the 197-horsepower Puma ST, leaving the most powerful version as the ST ‘Powershift,’ offering 168 horsepower through a seven-speed automatic gearbox.

The 2025 Puma comes in four trims: Titanium, ST-Line, ST-Line X, and the performance-oriented ST. Starting at £25,800, the Puma is well-equipped across the board, featuring dual displays, alloy wheels, LED lighting, and selectable drive modes. The ST-Line models add sportier features, while the ST-Line X includes premium touches like a powered boot lid and wireless charging. The ST goes even further with aggressive styling and performance seats.

Overall, the 2025 Ford Puma strikes a solid balance between practicality, technology, and driving enjoyment, though some may miss the raw performance of the now-discontinued Puma ST.
