2025 Honda Civic Facelift: The New Civic is Here to Impress!

After nearly a decade, the Honda Civic Hybrid is making a comeback in America. Last seen in 2015, the Civic Hybrid was shelved in favor of the Honda Insight, which shared many similarities with the Civic until the Civic’s major redesign in 2022. This new Civic brings several updates that promise to capture the interest of both hybrid enthusiasts and traditional gasoline car lovers.

The front of the 2022 Civic has received a notable facelift. It features a wider, more pronounced lower air intake, complemented by slimmer corner intakes that are reminiscent of those found on the sportier Civic Type R. The upper grille has also been revised, reducing the overhang of the hood and giving the car a sleeker, more refined appearance. Although the headlights and tail lights remain largely unchanged, these subtle tweaks enhance the overall look of the sedan. The body, including the doors, retains the classic Civic shape, ensuring it remains recognizable to fans of the brand. Additionally, a new wheel design, likely specific to the hybrid model, has been introduced, adding a fresh touch to the car’s profile.

These changes are expected to extend to the regular gasoline-powered Civic models for 2025. Honda has confirmed that these versions will also receive a light visual update along with other enhancements for the new model year. The LX and EX models may come equipped with a 158 horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine as standard, or the previously optional 180 horsepower, turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Regardless of the engine choice, the Civic will continue to be available exclusively as a front-wheel-drive vehicle.

For the Civic Hybrid, it is anticipated that Honda will adopt a version of the Accord Hybrid’s gasoline-electric system. This setup might feature a smaller gasoline engine and potentially deliver less horsepower than the Accord Hybrid, but it is expected to provide a balance of efficiency and performance suitable for the compact sedan category.

As Honda prepares to reintroduce the Civic Hybrid, it aims to blend the best of both worlds – the reliability and popularity of the traditional Civic with the fuel efficiency and environmental benefits of a hybrid. This move not only marks a significant step in Honda’s journey towards greener technologies but also reaffirms the Civic’s position as a versatile and forward-thinking model in Honda’s lineup. Whether you are a long-time Civic fan or new to the brand, the upcoming changes promise to offer something exciting for everyone.
