There’s another secret SUV feature that I’m guilty of totally missing. To be fair, when I review Jeep Wrangler models, I immediately take the top off to go play. However, knowing about this hidden feature would have provided peace of mind!

The Jeep Wrangler has a hidden storage compartment

Get ready to possibly have your mind blown thanks to TikTok user @brandon.haneline as he reveals a secret Jeep Wrangler feature.

Even though I run at off-roading SUVs like a spider monkey, I totally missed this. But there is a hidden storage compartment in the center console.

As the video shows, the center console has a small storage bin under the lid and a larger compartment underneath it.

But there’s a third bin built into the lid. It blends in with the other materials pretty well, making it easy to miss. Plus, you can use your physical key to lock it.

This is great information for owners to know, as I think thieves could easily miss this feature as they rifle through your ride in the dark.

Are there other secret Wrangler storage compartments?

I reached out to brandon.haneline to see if he had any more Jeep Wrangler secrets to share. But through my own searching, I immediately came across another one.

In the rear cargo area, in the back corner, there is a panel that can be removed with your physical key. You’ll find a small cubby with a power connector in it.

So, when you take your top off, you can remove the plug that hangs down and connect it. This way, it’s safe, secure, and protected instead of dangling in the wind. I bet it can get knocked around pretty hard against the frame when it’s loose as well.

Plus, the cord for the rear wiper and rear heating grid can also be safely stored. There are two clips that the wire easily snaps into. Then put the lid back on top of the compartment, and you’re ready to roll.

Next, there is another lockable storage compartment under the driver’s seat. It’s a bit larger for hiding bigger valuables.

I already knew about a few different things, like the drain plugs, the removable subwoofer, and the ability to fold the front windshield down.

People in the comments shared that the lock doesn’t actually do anything and argued that Brandon is disassembling the armrest.

Others shared that now the secret is out, thanks! While some folks complain that the spot is too small for important valuables, a lot of people said they would use it to store items like cash, their insurance cards, or Costco cards.

Haters are going to hate, which is why one person said to stop being tacky and to just keep the doors on. But the most helpful piece of advice came from a man who recommended reading the user manual.
