2025 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado – Price, Specs, and Features Unveiled!
Get ready for the new 2025 Toyota LandCruiser Prado, which is set to hit the market later this year. This latest model comes with some significant updates and a price tag that is up to $12,500 more than its predecessor.
Toyota Australia has revealed more details about the Prado, confirming that orders will open later this month. The base GX model will start at $72,500 before on-road costs, reflecting an increase of $9,670 from the previous 150 Series. The smallest price hike among the new models. The GXL version is now priced at $79,990, the VX starts at $87,400, and the top-tier Kakadu comes in at $99,990, all before on-road costs. A new addition to the lineup is the Prado Altitude, priced at $92,700, fitting between the VX and Kakadu models.
Under the hood, all variants of the 2025 Prado are equipped with the same 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine as before. This engine retains its 150-kilowatt and 500-newton meter outputs but now features a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. Although this system does not increase the engine’s power, it reduces the strain on the engine by powering auxiliary functions. This is achieved through a motor generator, a 48-volt battery, and a DC to DC converter.
The Prado’s engine is paired with a new eight-speed automatic transmission, which includes low-range gearing for improved off-road capability. This setup ensures that power is delivered to all four wheels through a full-time all-wheel drive system. On paper, the engine’s performance may seem similar to the previous model, but the addition of the mild-hybrid system brings notable improvements.
All 2025 Toyota LandCruiser Prado models have a fuel consumption rate of 7.6 liters per 100 kilometers on the combined cycle. Buyers will have a choice of eight paint colors, with premium options available for an additional $675. Two-tone finishes like Tanami Taupe and Ningaloo Blue, paired with a light-grey roof, are exclusively offered on the Altitude model for an extra $1,675.
With these updates, the new 2025 Toyota LandCruiser Prado promises to be a more refined and efficient vehicle, ready to tackle any adventure.
