BHPian SnS_12 recently shared this with other enthusiasts: HSRP number plate for the Daytona Just like the RZ, the Daytona carburettors had to be cleaned as well, and while it was not as bad as the RZ, the pilot jets were clogged up. Yesterday, took the Daytona to the fitment centre, and I knew it wouldn’t be an easy process. For starters, they insisted on only using rivets for the rear plates and were not accommodating my request to fit it with the nut and bolt used on the original plates. I was fine with that as I could move to the nuts and bolts fitment later on. Now, coming to the front, the front mudguard had been drilled earlier to fit a sideways-mounted number plate (old style), but they were insisting on drilling holes in the fork top cover to fit it or asked me to have a bracket mounted. Doing that would need time, as it won’t be a straight fit, and something will have to be specifically fabricated for it. With a lot of convincing and after showing how the Busa number plate had been stuck, they agreed to have it stuck with 3M double-sided tape. Have purchased a front number plate bracket that will be fitted on the bike with some modification when the clutch cover is opened up for inspecting the clutch plates and changing them if required. But, before that have to plan and visit the RTO office to get the papers updated, which are long overdue. Can’t wait to experience the true riding pleasure of this incredibly special and rare 250 twin Some pictures… Wash time.. With so many different bikes and mostly two strokes, my life is about fixing small issues on one and enjoying riding the other one. The RX has a busted front oil seal, and the DS might need new clutch plates..Praying for the day when all the bikes will ride like a charm.. What a beautiful colour scheme to remind you of Yamaha’s two-stroke racing days.. Lucky not to have four carbs.. Had I bought the RZV 500 with a V4 side-mounted carbs it would have been an absolute nightmare to maintain it with E20 fuel. Imagine the seat filled with only carb parts… All set to hit the road once again Two Japanese automotive legends in one frame Old plates are out All OE spec fittings is a pleasure to view HSRP plates go on Front As I headed my journey home had to take a detour and park it immediately.. As the rain gods played spoil sport, or maybe not, as the route I took once the rain stopped was completely dry.. With the detour got to enjoy a special vada pav as well Old number plate, which looks like a JDM plate, and the front number plate bracket that I bought, which is on the left.
