2025 Hyundai i30 Hatchback – The Perfect Blend of Power and Efficiency!

The facelifted 2025 Hyundai i30 Hatch has been announced for Australia, following a significant shift from Korean to European production. Now built in the Czech Republic, the new model features a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine, replacing the previous 2.0-litre non-turbo and 1.6-litre turbo options. This change aims to enhance fuel efficiency and performance.

The 2025 i30 Hatch will be available in two sports-themed variants: the N Line and N Line Premium. The standard base, Active, and Elite trims have been removed from the lineup. The starting price has increased significantly, with the entry-level N Line now costing $36,000 before on-road costs, up from $24,000 for the previous base model. The top-of-the-line N Line Premium is priced at $41,000, reflecting a $3,700 increase over its predecessor.

This price hike is partly due to a five percent import tariff and higher shipping costs for European-built models. The facelift introduces subtle exterior styling updates, a widescreen digital instrument cluster, and an enhanced active safety suite. The new 1.5-litre engine, assisted by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, produces 117kW and 253Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Despite its smaller size, this engine offers similar power and greater torque than the old 2.0-litre non-turbo engine, though it falls short of the previous 1.6-litre turbo’s output.

Fuel consumption for the new model has not been confirmed in Australia, but Hyundai Europe reports a figure of 5.7L/100km. The mild-hybrid system cannot drive the wheels on electric power alone but provides a boost during acceleration and supports an auto engine stop-start system at traffic lights.

The N Line now mirrors the i30 N hot hatch with updated headlights, tail-lights, and bumpers, featuring V-shaped daytime-running lights. Inside, the base N Line boasts a 10.25-inch infotainment system and a matching digital instrument cluster, three USB-C ports, and new 18-inch alloy wheels. The N Line Premium adds Bluelink connected-car services, a panoramic sunroof, a 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated and ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.

With seven striking colours to choose from, the 2025 Hyundai i30 Hatch N Line promises to turn heads and deliver an exciting driving experience. Full specifications will be confirmed soon, just in time for its arrival in Australian showrooms. Stay tuned!
