BHPian ToothyPetrohead recently shared this with other enthusiasts: I have recently, as of the third week of November, got the renewal of my PRIZED POSSESSION, my 2010 Wagon R done. I had somehow, after being extremely careful with my car documents, misplaced the RC card too. She has her few rough edges and quirks and run 41k, kms so far. (As close to stock as possible). I got the entire procedure done for green tax payment and a duplicate RC card with the help of my known agent. My car is an MH43-registered vehicle (Navi Mumbai, Nerul RTO). The entire procedure was very smooth and all was finished within one and a half hours at the RTO office and inspection centre. The premises, both at the office as well as the inspection centre, were in good nick, easily accessible and ample parking around. The staff was courteous and helpful, too. Car Prep done by me was a good body foam wash and vacuum, followed by a wax for the rejuvenation of the paint, plastic parts, wheel wells, including interior wax and cleaning done over multiple weekends. Also cleaned and detailed the engine bay too. (A good weekend toil, relaxation and ultimate satisfaction once the job was complete). She looked like a bride on her wedding day! (Fifteen years apart). I was asked by the officer to start the vehicle, put on all the lights, indicators, dipper, honk, start the wipers front and back (VXI model), and put the windows up and down. He sat inside the vehicle and had a look around too. He also did a check of the documents and of the Chassis number in the engine bay during his inspection. And then the officer said the following statement that is Music to a car enthusiast,”Sir, is this a fifteen-year-old car? She certainly doesn’t look like one. Very immaculately kept.” This very statement was the cherry on top for me at the MH43 RTO experience. At one end, I also saw an immaculately kept 2012 Toyota Innova in the official parking. Well, that goes to show that some RTO officials are also car enthusiasts. Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
