Electric vehicle brand Polestar has heavily discounted its Tesla Model 3-rivalling Polestar 2 and Polestar 4 models, with savings of up to around $15,000.

Polestar Australia has substantially cut pricing for its mid-size Polestar 2 and large Polestar 4 sedans as part of a limited-time promotion running until 31 March, 2026.

Savings of up to around $13,000 can be had on the Polestar 2, with the most affordable version of the electric vehicle (EV) coming down from $68,560 drive-away in Victoria to $55,664.

This makes the Polestar 2 Standard Range Single Motor more affordable than a Tesla Model 3 Single Motor (from $54,900 before on-road costs), as well as the MG IM5 ($60,990 drive-away).

While the entry-level Polestar 2 affords a 554km WLTP-rated driving range thanks to a 70kWh battery, buyers can also opt for the Long Range Single Motor version that increases the range rating to 659km due to the larger 82kWh battery.

A similar saving of $12,896 can also be had on the Polestar 2 Long Range Single Motor, with pricing coming down from $72,728 to $59,832 in Victoria.

Polestar has also applied the same discount to the top-spec Polestar 2 Long Range Dual Motor – which adds an additional electric motor driving the front wheels for all-wheel-drive performance – now costing $65,042.

All aforementioned prices for the Polestar 2 are before options.

A discount is also applied to the larger Polestar 4, but only applicable to “preconfigured” vehicles with estimated delivery times of late January, 2026.

Polestar 4

In total, 76 Polestar 4 vehicles are listed on the brand’s Australian website, a mix of 2025 and 2026 models, with discounts of up to $14,905.

The most affordable Polestar 4 is a Long Range Single Motor variant, priced at $76,220 down from $87,682.

At the other end of the spectrum, a Polestar 4 Long Range Dual Motor, with all the options including the Performance, Pilot, and Plus packs, is discounted from $131,465 to $116,560 – a saving of nearly $15,000.

Customers are required to place an order on their desired Polestar 2 or Polestar 4 before 31 March, 2026 and take delivery by 30 April.

To the end of November this year, Polestar has reportedly sold 2189 vehicles, an increase of 42.6 per cent over the same 11-month period in 2024.

However, it is outsold by the leading EV-only brand, Tesla, in Australia by more than 12-to-one, with the US marque notching 26,271 sales over the same time period.
