Acura has unveiled the new RSX Prototype at Monterey Car Week, previewing the brand’s first in-house developed electric SUV. The production Acura RSX EV is scheduled to arrive in the second half of 2026, marking a major milestone in the company’s shift toward electrification.

Acura RSX Prototype

The 2026 Acura RSX will be the first model built on Honda’s new global EV platform, developed entirely in-house, and produced at the Honda EV Hub in Ohio. It will share the production line with the Acura Integra at the Marysville Auto Plant.

Finished in Propulsion Yellow Pearl, the Acura RSX Prototype features a sleek coupe-inspired silhouette, fastback roofline, and wide stance. Sculpted bodywork flows into a ducktail-style rear spoiler, while large 21-inch wheels and red Brembo brake calipers signal its performance focus. Up front, the evolved Diamond Pentagon grille is paired with slim LED headlights and sharp daytime running lights. A full-width LED taillight pays tribute to the NSX, with bold “ACURA” lettering across the tailgate.

Built on a dedicated EV architecture, the RSX will come standard with dual-motor all-wheel drive, sport-tuned double-wishbone front suspension, and a low center of gravity. Brembo brakes are also standard.

The RSX will debut ASIMO OS, Acura’s new software platform designed to personalize the driving experience by learning driver preferences and behaviors. Over-the-air updates will keep the system current, while the SUV’s bidirectional charging capability will allow it to power home appliances or serve as a backup power source.

The Acura RSX production model is expected to go on sale in the second half of 2026.
