All-New 2025 Toyota Fortuner – A Durable SUV with Strong Performance!

The 2025 Toyota Fortuner may not be as popular in Australia as the pickup truck it is based on, but it remains a strong choice for those who need durability, performance, and off-road capability. Sharing its mechanical components with the Toyota HiLux, the Fortuner offers a more enclosed and comfortable cabin. However, it faces strong competition from the Ford Everest and the Toyota LandCruiser Prado, which attract buyers looking for advanced features and a more premium experience.

The Fortuner Crusade is the most well-equipped version of this model. It is priced at sixty-six thousand seven hundred fifty-five dollars before additional costs and provides a solid alternative to the HiLux SR5 and other sport utility vehicles in its class. This model is designed for those who want off-road capability without the need for a pickup truck bed.

Inside, the Toyota Fortuner has a more refined interior than many sport utility vehicles based on utility models. While it shares some elements with the HiLux, such as the multifunction steering wheel and climate control system, the dashboard has a more car-like appearance with soft-touch materials and stitched accents. The touchscreen blends into the overall design, and the center console takes inspiration from both the HiLux and the Prado.

However, some aspects of the design feel dated. The automatic gear shifter follows a traditional layout, and the physical handbrake lever remains instead of an electronic version. The woodgrain trim adds a classic touch, but it may not appeal to everyone. Unlike Toyota’s latest models that focus on digital displays, the Fortuner still uses analog dials with a multifunction display. The infotainment system includes wired smartphone connectivity and built-in navigation, but its processing speed is slower compared to newer competitors.

In the second row, passengers get a reasonable amount of legroom, but headroom and foot space are slightly restricted. Convenience features include roof-mounted air vents, cup holders, power outlets, and grab handles. The third row is best suited for children and reduces cargo space when in use. With all seats occupied, storage is limited. Folding the third row increases space, but since the seats fold to the sides, they take up part of the cargo area. Toyota includes a full-size spare wheel, with the Crusade featuring an eighteen-inch alloy version.

Under the hood, the Toyota Fortuner is powered by a two point eight-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. It delivers one hundred fifty kilowatts of power and five hundred Newton-meters of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission, with selectable high and low-range settings for off-road use. Fuel consumption is rated at seven point six liters per one hundred kilometers, but real-world conditions may result in slightly higher usage. The Fortuner has an eighty-liter fuel tank and a towing capacity of three thousand one hundred kilograms when properly equipped.

For those looking for a tough and dependable sport utility vehicle with proven off-road ability, the Toyota Fortuner remains a strong choice. While it does not have the most advanced technology or the most spacious third row, it offers durability, practicality, and the well-known reliability of Toyota.
