BHPian WhyMe recently shared this with other enthusiasts: How useful is an angle-adjustable footrest for second row passengers, placed under the front seat, for relief to thighs, knees & lower back on long trips (especially in EV with raised floor) or just as a firm surface to brace the legs against during acceleration/braking? What factors should to consider while buying one? Do they remain firmly on the floor?Few pictures for reference:BHPian Geo_Ipe recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Quote from BHPian WhyMe:How useful is angle-adjustable footrest for second row passengers, placed under front seat, for relief to thighs, knees & lower back on long trips (especially in EV with raised floor) or just as a firm surface to brace the legs against during acceleration/braking?Never seen these before. From the picture, all it does is eliminated the thigh support. I don’t understand the problem this accessory is trying to solve. Reminds me of the multiple seat cushion accessories being heavily promoted on social media. Most OEM seats are comfortable enough without any of them. BHPian bravo82in recently shared this with other enthusiasts: I’ve been using one since 2007 – a genuine Maruti accessory. It isn’t adjustable, just a 2-inch wedge cushion, but it still makes a big difference. The new adjustable versions are a great improvement. BHPian anjan_c2007 recently shared this with other enthusiasts: If this is a permanent fixture as an accessory it would not be OK for six footers who may like the backseat comfort. It would be preferred as a detachable accessory to be dismantled without much issues and can be safely stored in the luggage boot if a six footer is uncomfortable with it. Among the budget cars that have very good foot space for back seat passengers are the Tata Indigo XL (2007-2009) on the obituary list now). The Xcent though a sub 4 metre sedan has its front seats perched leaving lots of space between the floorboard and the seat base. One can comfortably stretch his legs while travelling. In such cars this kind of footrest can be a solace for long distance travel. But such footrests are a strict no-no for all Scorpio (2003-2022) owners (among thr worst legroom for rear seat occupants) but for the Scorpio-N, whose not second but third row is cramped for legroom.Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
