Cooling Down A Hot Truck
The COBB Front Mount Intercooler upgrade is now available for the 2024+ Ranger Raptor! A direct replacement of the factory intercooler, the COBB intercooler offers significantly improved cooling efficiency leading to higher, more consistent power. Our FMIC was designed in house with attention to detail lacking on other aftermarket offerings. We used digital analysis to create the smoothest end tank design which increases flow evenly and reduced significant airflow turbulence. The outlet port of the intercooler was also designed with a large chamfer to provide a smooth transition out of the intercooler into the throttle body tube to further reduce turbulence in the system.
What is a Ranger Raptor?
The all-new 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor is the most powerful and high-performance, off-road capable Ranger ever. The truck is equipped with a 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 engine generating 405 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. Designed for rugged terrain, it features long-travel suspension with 2.5-inch FOX Live Valve shocks, a Watts link rear suspension, and front and rear locking differentials. The Ranger Raptor includes multiple drive modes for various conditions, and advanced off-road technology like Trail Control to help descend rocky landscapes. Ford also kept enthusiasts in mind by giving it a 360-Degree Camera so you can see excitement at every angle.
Pushing The Limits
As with all of our products, our development process for creating this intercooler and it’s benefits were nothing short of monumental. We detailed those efforts in this other blog post when we released the intercooler upgrade for the 2.3L & 2.7L Ford Bronco models which utilize the same core and one of the endtanks as the Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor have dual turbos as opposed to one.
