When we asked MotorBiscuit followers which car they’d buy again without hesitation, the responses came fast…and full of certain feelings. As someone who spent years behind the service counter before stepping into full-time autos writing, I’ve heard plenty of “never again” stories.
But this post was the opposite. Some cars earned it through reliability, others through raw fun, and a few because they made life a little simpler.
Plenty of folks waxed nostalgic about their big-bodied American car
One declared, “I’d buy a fleet of 1991 Oldsmobile Delta 88’s! At least 10 of them in different colors.”
Another praised the 1989 Buick Electra Park Avenue, calling it “the best car I ever owned” thanks to its smooth ride, minimal repairs, and nearly rust-free body.
There was deep affection for the 1978 Ford Thunderbird, a 1969 Chevy Malibu, and even the 1970 Ford Maverick.
One fan swore by the 1988 Mercedes 560SL, saying it “cost nearly nothing to own over 23 years.”
And if comfort and simplicity are virtues, one commenter summed it up perfectly
“Any last generation G-body GM. Comfy ride no matter how bad the road was. And you could work on it yourself.”
Performance lovers didn’t hold back
The C5 Corvette Z06 got high praise for being “raw” and “fun to drive” without being overloaded with tech.
Another singled out the Porsche 992.1 C2S as “the best car I’ve ever owned, hands down.”
Enthusiasts also showed love to classics
Like the 1966 Fairlane GTA, ’68 Fastback Mustang 2+2, and ’86 Porsche 944.
One reader’s pick was the Alfa 4C: “made all the right sounds, lightweight, quick enough, and just fun to drive.”
Japanese and European reliability held strong
One follower wrote, “Pretty much any Toyota I’ve ever owned,” while another swore by a 2003 Toyota Tacoma and 2008 to 2010 Lexus IS F.
The 2000 Acura Integra 5-speed and 1994 Acura Legend coupe both got shoutouts for their balance of power and personality.
Honda fans chimed in with a 2004 Accord 5-speed and the humble Civic. One Toyota loyalist even said they’d buy back the same 1997 Camry they sold. “I bet it has 325k miles now, and I’d buy it tomorrow.”
Drivers who value practicality stayed loyal too
The Ford Escape had multiple fans: “This is my fourth one since 2008. Only repairs were brake jobs and maintenance.”
The Nissan Xterra was praised for reliability, and one owner said their Chevy Tracker “just went anywhere you wanted it to go… even in three-foot storms.”
A Kia Stinger owner said they traded a CTSV for it “without hesitation,” while another called the Dodge Durango R/T a “great car.”
And yes, there was even love for the Tesla Model 3, with one owner already on their second.
