BHPian MileCruncher recently shared this with other enthusiasts:Rynox Stealth Evo 4During some of the monsoon rides earlier this year, I kept feeling the need of having a waterproof / water-repellent gear. Something that doesn’t need a rain gear on top on light rains. I already had 2 riding jackets – both touring jackets, one predominantly a mesh jacket for riding in summer and the other more suited for colder weather. In addition, I had 3 riding pants, 1 specifically bought so that the bottom could go inside the riding boots. I had heard great things about Taichi Drymaster and tried looking for it during my recent BKK trip. But alas. They are available in India with 6KIOM but with expensive pricing. At over 60K it was getting a little too rich for me! Kept looking at options from Reise, Ixon et al but nothing clicked. I had seen the Rynox Stealth Evo 4 and the jacket felt light from a fabric basis. So decided to buy the pair ( Jacket + Pant ) for 30K. Since buying, I have done about 1500 Kms in them. 2 rides being in rains. One being torrential almost. And 1 ride in hot sunny weather. Key points:This is the most premium apparel of Rynox. While it is no match to Drymaster, I feel its 70% there. The fabric is nylon and hence lighter than cordura.Cordura is still there at the joints”DWR Shell: Durable Water Resistant coated shell. Keeps you dry in light showers” – This is company claim. I agree with the claim. I just zip shut all ventilation and I’m dry even in 1 hr rain ride. The trouser bottom width is adjustable hence you the pants can fall over your boots. With my Goretex TCX full length boot, I was able to keep myself fully dry.Ventilation is good. No complaints.Lots of pockets, storage sleeves et al. All functional and placement well thought out.D3O armour which is light and flexible. At 30K for the set, I think they are full paisa vasool!
