Honda Malaysia (HMSB) has announced the first two lucky draw winners of its 25th Anniversary “Because of You” campaign, with the prizes, consisting of a City Hatchback RS and a WR-V RS, being presented to the winners at a special appreciation event earlier today. The two vehicles are among the six grand prizes being offered by the company as part of its anniversary celebrations – find out more about the campaign here.
The winner of the City Hatchback RS was Chin Boon Hao from Perak, who entered the contest after purchasing a Civic RS. “Owning a Civic has always been my dream, and receiving my new car was already exciting, but winning the City Hatchback RS on top of that makes it even more special,” he said.
“I was shocked when they called to inform that I had won – I thought it was scam! Now, I can’t wait to take both my Honda cars out on the road and enjoy the different driving experiences each one has to offer,” he added.
For Avis Ou Xiao Qian, her purchase of a CR-V brought more than just the SUV to her household, as the Sarawakian’s entry in the lucky draw contest bagged her the WR-V RS, which was accepted on her behalf by her husband, Liew Jeng Siong.
“I wanted an SUV that offers a complete package, such as comfort, spaciousness and elegant design, and the CR-V was the car for me. Little did I know that my new car would bring along its sibling to the family, both perfectly suited for my family’s needs,” she said.
Besides the prize vehicle models, Honda Malaysia also displayed the recently-announced CR-V Dual-Tone Edition, a 300-unit special version to commemorate its 25th anniversary in Malaysia, as part of its event showcase.
Additionally, HMSB also brought out its first locally-assembled vehicle from its No.1 Line at the Pegoh plant, a second-generation CR-V from 2003, for the event.
It’s not the first time the SUV has appeared, as it was shown during the launch of the sixth-gen back in 2023, but its appearance today is a quiet nod to the ‘Comfortable Runabout Vehicle’ celebrating its 30th anniversary this quarter. The milestone was highlighted by the automaker at its Automotive Technology Workshop event in Japan last month, where the design sketch panels of all six generations seen here were on display.
