BHPian caravatar01 recently shared this with other enthusiasts: I had booked Creta Electric Excellence LR a few weeks ago, and with delay in delivery – I got some time to think about my decision. With XEV9E pack 2 59KW in similar price range (+1.5Lac), i am torn between these vehicles on which one to eventually buy. I live in Bangalore and looking for an EV below 25Lac to avoid extra road tax.Hyundai Creta EV vs Mahindra XEV 9e Pack Two: Similarities And Advantages- Range: both vehicles have real world range of 380-400km on a single charge. Creta EV is more efficient even with a smaller battery. – Price: Similarly priced (with XEV9E Pack 2 59KW priced slighly higher) – Adequate Power in both machines : XEV9E is more powerful, but Creta EV is also has more power than i require.Advantages of Creta Excellence LR:- Excellence LR being top model for Creta EV is better equipped with ventilated seats, Co driver electric seats, rear sunshades, 360 degree camera, blind view monitor etc. Albeit XEV does get 3 screen setup, which looks awesome. – Reliability: AFAIK, car is almost free of niggles (with new ICCU hardware) – which is not true for XEV9E. – Rear visibility is better with a conventional design. XEV’s rear view visibility is hampered with the coupe design.Advantages of XEV 9E Pack 2 59KW:- XEV is a bigger car – bigger boot, better space, better road presence and possibly better comfort. XEV looks futuristic as well (IMHO) and looks much better than the Creta EV with great road presence. – Based on a Born Electric platform, while Creta EV is an ICE conversion. – Music system is much better with 16 speaker setup. – BYD LFP battery – better suited for Indian conditions. Also 15 year battery warranty compared to Creta EV’s 8 year warranty. – faster charging : XEV Pack 2 has 140KW charger capability compared to Creta’s current 50KW (with a possible upgrade to 100KW as promised by Hyundai – but still not there). What should I do? Shall I go ahead with Creta EV Excellence LR or switch to XEV9E Pack 2 59KW? Here’s what BHPian yedukrishnan199 said regarding the matter:You would have to buy the pack 2 without a charger for it to fall below 25 lakhs ex-showroom. Moreover, the Creta is niggle free and is far more efficient than the XEV 9E, so I would recommend you stay with the Creta EV An out-of-the-box option is the VinFast VF7 Sky Variant with a 70.8 kWh battery at exactly 24.99 lakhs ex-showroom, and it comes with a 75k discount too. So, on-road, it would cost only around 25.9 lakhs. If you don’t need AWD, then the Wind or Wind Infinity variants at 24.44 lakhs and 24.96 lakhs are good options as well. I guess you don’t need 7 seats, else, the Carens Clavis EV, which is priced at par with the Creta EV, is also a good alternative.Meanwhile, BHPian niranjan233 added this to the discussion:Additional Benefits of the 9EIf you plan on using your vehicle for a long time with lots of distance to be covered, then the LFP on the 9E makes more sense as it has almost double the charging cycle life of the NMC Creta. If you plan on using it on highways the higher 140 kW charging capabilities will be a huge boon as opposed to the existing 50 kW or the promised 100 kW charging of the Creta. The triple screens and the music system as you mentioned are more than a class above the Creta. The rear seat comfort as well is better in the 9E with the recline modes. The boot and frunk space on the 9E is huge and if you have a need for it, should sway your decision here.Additional Benefits of the CretaMore service centers and availability of spares as it shares a lot of parts with ICE Creta.Smaller size and better visibility makes it a beginner friendly car if you plan on sharing it with others in your family who are not regular drivers.Smaller and lower spec tyres coupled with a motor that produces less torque, means better life and cheaper replacement later on.NMC batteries means you can charge to any level and the range prediction will be accurate, with no compulsion to charge upto 100% every now and then.Openable sunroof if it matters to you.Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
