BHPian rnaduthota recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Hello everyone, Yesterday, I installed an ultrasonic device in my Cron to protect it from rats. I’ve never had any issues with rats until now, but recently, my neighbour’s car wiring was damaged by rats. That made me consider getting something like this as a precaution. Coming to the product itself, I ordered it from the website https://carcat.in/ , and it cost me around 3.5K after applying some discount coupons and card offers. I received the device within a week, and the packaging was good. Finding a suitable place to install the device was a bit of a challenge, as there isn’t much open space under the bonnet. However, I was able to find an empty bolt near the car battery, which seemed like a good place to install. Unfortunately, I couldn’t use the bolt directly because the CarCat manual recommends maintaining a gap of around 20 inches between the device and engine components for better sound reflection. After some searching, I found an unused aluminum piece in my garage, which I used to mount the device on one end and secure it to the bolt on the other. To give it an OEM look, I wrapped the wiring with harness cloth tape and completed the installation successfully. According to the manufacturer, the device consumes an average of 0.35W, which seems reasonable, so I connected it directly to the car battery. Hopefully, it works as advertised and protects my Cron from rats. Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
