BHPian GForceEnjoyer recently shared this with other enthusiasts:Driving And Ownership Experience:It has been well over a year since I’ve updated this thread. To end the inadvertent suspense, I am letting you all know that the Superb’s been doing very well. It has crossed 35,000 km. Some massive news though. As of August this year, the Superb has been living in Delhi-NCR. I will soon elucidate on how this came to be. Since I’m now 18 (almost 19), I’ve gotten a good bit of time behind the wheel of this car too! After extensively driving the Fiesta, every input requires almost laughably little effort in the Superb. Everything is absolutely smooth and serene, and the car tries it’s level best to soothe you the second you get behind the wheel. Sports mode unleashes a whole different side of its character though, with the throttle response becoming far sharper and more natural, and the steering becoming heavier. I have to say, the weight of its electronic steering rack does sometimes feel a little artificial. That aside, it’s a brilliant system and keeps you well-updated on what the front wheels are up to. The DSG might be my favourite part of the car. Quick, responsive, smooth and an absolute blast. The car actually handles very well despite the soft suspension. The chassis is fairly tight and grip is fantastic. A stiffer aftermarket system can absolutely transform the car if one is willing! Once you get comfortable with the size, it’s very pleasant to drive. This was the grandest and the most ambitious road trip we’ve undertaken in any car ever, covering over 1,800 km door to door one-way. As always, this is where it shines. In light of us shifting back to NCR, the Superb is now no longer in Hyderabad. We did not want to get it transported, so we decided to drive it there instead! Before Covid, I had jokingly suggested driving to Delhi in the Fiesta on multiple occasions. I guess that plan did finally materialise, albeit nearly 6 years later and in a different car! The last time the Fiesta and Superb were photographed together for a couple of years at least (the Fiesta is headed for storage, thanks to the NGT’s ridiculous ruling in NCR). We stopped at Jabalpur to visit family on the way. Here are the stunning views from Bhedaghat which is a short while away. Here’s the Superb during a rest stop on the Bundelkhand expressway in Uttar Pradesh. By the way, its surface is absolutely rubbish and incapable of supporting its own speed limit of 120 km/h. Also, excavations jump out at you with no signage or barricades whatsoever, which could turn fatal at night. In comparison, the Agra-Lucknow expressway is far superior, and the Yamuna expressway is even more so. Here is yours truly standing triumphantly after successfully parking in Noida and ending the epic drive from Hyderabad. Prior to getting to Delhi, running was fairly low low, consisting mainly of leisurely Sunday drives, the occasional highway spins around Hyderabad and a last-minute trip to Nanded and Karanja. We also got the car serviced a few days before the drive to Delhi, and it was a wonderful, smooth experience with PPS Skoda as always. In fact, this experience was better than the rest, as they displayed the willingness to repair instead of simply replace. Our wiper blades had been making a racket of late, and instead of forcing a 4,000 rupee replacement, they simply re-inserted the blade facing the other direction, which has prevented the reoccurrence of the problem so far. Here it is, chilling on the outskirts of Hyderabad while we were running some errands. The Superb has now been driven in 10 states (TS, AP, KA, TN, GA, MH, MP, UP, DL and HR). The list will certainly grow soon, as we plan to (re)explore more of North India with it. As a parting shot, here’s yours truly behind the wheel. Until next time, cheers!Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
