The Toyota Land Cruiser FJ made its debut at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. Dubbed as the baby Land Cruiser, the new SUV will reportedly be launched in the Indian market by late 2028. India is expected to be one of the production bases for the Land Cruiser FJ. It could be manufactured at Toyota’s new facility located at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra. The Land Cruiser FJ shares its underpinnings with the massively popular Fortuner. At 4,575 mm long, the Land Cruiser FJ is shorter than the Fortuner and has a wheelbase of 2,580 mm. It is based on a rugged ladder-frame chassis and is expected to be offered with petrol and hybrid powertrain options. Reports suggest that the FJ could get a 2.7-litre petrol engine producing 161 BHP and 246 Nm. Strong-hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions might also be on offer. The Land Cruiser FJ has a chunky and rugged exterior design with black plastic cladding all around. The front fascia has the ‘Toyota’ badge in the centre and single-pod LED headlamps with U-shaped LED DRLs on either side. At the rear, the boxy SUV gets C-shaped LED taillamps that protrude out of the bodywork and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. Inside, the Land Cruiser FJ gets a 12.5-inch touchscreen, a chunky 3-spoke steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster, and reclining rear seats. Prices for the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ could start at around Rs 30 lakh. Source: Autocar India
