BHPian JD1 recently shared this with other enthusiasts:Route TakenI visited yesterday (my first visit). Started from HSR at 2;30pm and reached at 4:30 pm. Took ORR-> OMR -> Peripheral/Satellite ring road (or whatever fancy name they are using these days) -> BLR-HYD highway and then local road. Drive on Satellite ring road was fantastic. 6 lane road, speed limit of 100 easily doable due to almost no traffic (except the occasional trucks driving on right most lane at speeds of 30 inspite of lane guidance sign boards). The exit at Devanahalli towards Hyd highway is horrible. Blink and miss it.. It’s not even a proper exit. Couple of sign boards are there but it’s basically like a cutting on highway – you have to come from 100 to 0. Would be very difficult to spot at night. And then to get on Hyd highway you have to make a u-turn from service road which is another chore. Thankfully I had couple of heavy vehicles doing the u-turn so used them as shield (like Israeli Lockheed C-130 Hercules did to land in Entebee using Air India plane as cover to not get detected by Ugandan radar). There should be signal or better a proper loop to connect directly to Hyd highway should have been built. Fortunately I was little early so did not face traffic on approach road also and quickly reached parking lot.Tips That Might HelpThanks to all the tips given in this thread which were very helpful. Consolidating and repeating them- * Parking close to restaurant is nearest but difficult to get. I did not get it and had to use the next parking C5 (which is very huge lot) but access is difficult and not for elderly. * Lights are there in parking including this C5 lot but going to C5 lot from the restaurant parking lot is chore and is dark. I had carried a traditional torch as I did not have trust on my phone battery to last after full day usage and photography/videography * Carry sitting mat or small foldable chair (if chair then make sure its low /sitting just few inches on ground so you are not interrupting others behind you). Sitting on stairs is not allowed. Infact there are barricades at beginning (till where Nandi statue is) and you can only sit after that. * Carry jacket as it will get chilly, especially in winter * Restaurant is there (Dosa, idly, juice, fruit salad etc) * Toilets were clean and non-smelly. So looks like maintenance is being done thruout the day. * Show started at 7pm but there was mantra jap and other informative commentary till about 7:20 when the laser show started. * Laser show lasted a good 20 minutes with narration in English * Exit will be big challenge but thankfully most vehicles maintained lane discipline (except the occasional cabbies) who tried to overtake crossing over to other side. At some points there are barriers in middle so saw couple of vehicles trying to overtake and then suddenly realizing there is a barrier in middle. But other than that 99% vehicles were calmly driving and maintaining lane discipline on local road. Took 1 hour to reach Hyd-Bangalore highway * Car was covered with dust. My cleaner has hell lot of work cut out tomorrow. If you are too sensitive to dust in parking lot, please carry masks. Wife commented that they spent crores but couldn’t spent few lakhs on making a proper cemented parking lot (car parking charges are Rs 50/-) * Again at exit of Hyd-Blr highway it was a mess. There is a signal before the exit and was stuck for almost 10 minutes at that signal. * The exit from Satellite peripheral road onto OMR (NH75) was great. A proper loop is done.
