The Tesla Cybertruck. Few modern vehicles are as debate-inducing, and the hulking EV pickup truck just got pricier. Tesla just took its most expensive truck and tacked on $15,000 for an immovable package.

The top-trim ‘Cyberbeast’ variant of the Tesla Cybertruck gets a $15,000 price bump, even with soft sales

Tesla has officially raised the price of the highest trim in the Cybertruck lineup, the tri-motor Cyberbeast. It’s a $15,000 bump, tying the Cyberbeast with the Model X Plaid for the most expensive vehicle the brand currently sells.

In typical Tesla fashion, the move arrived without notice or publicity. The Model X and Model S received similar price hikes last week, adding $10,000 to the starting price of both luxury models.

The move also arrives on the heels of a Cybertruck lawsuit and lackluster sales. California Cybertruck owners entered into a class action lawsuit after receiving deliveries without an optional off-road light bar, despite paying for the feature.

Last year, Tesla sold around 24,300 Cybertrucks. In that same period, the brand sold around six times as many Model 3s. This year, sales figures look even more dire. After CEO Elon Musk’s antics and increasing market competition, sales for the angular EV truck fell to around 5,000 units per quarter.

Model Starting price
Cybertruck Long Range $62,490
Cybertruck All-Wheel Drive $72,490
Cybertruck Cyberbeast $114,990

The culprit is the Cyberbeast’s ‘Luxe Package,’ and you can’t opt out

Tesla has already added the update to its Cybertruck configurator. When a shopper selects the “Cyberbeast,” the site displays the new Luxe Package, which Tesla labels as “included,” although buyers can’t remove it.

The package includes free supercharging and supervised Full-Self Driving (FSD). It also includes four years of “premium service,” which covers wheels, tires, windshield protection, and recommended maintenance.
