Started with a Vega Boolean and then upgraded to LS2 FF386, followed by MT Atom. I vouch with my life for the LS2 FF386 post my accident. As mentioned, I bought a couple of LS2 FF386 spare helmets of the same model (which were retailing at INR 5500). Since then, whenever I am on the hunt for a helmet, I refer to the SHARP safety rating. Needless to say, LS2 FF386 scores a commendable 4-star SHARP safety rating. On the other hand, MT Atom scores a respectable 3-star SHARP safety rating. Both helmets are double homologated (P/J), meaning they are safe when used in open (chin-up) or closed (chin-down) mode. Although I wouldn’t recommend riding in open (chin-up) mode. See pic below of the LS2 FF386 helmet that saved my life (on the right side) and the replacement helmet of the same type (on the left side). Notice the temple area of the helmet on the right side which bore the brunt of the impact with the tarmac. Notice on the SHARP website, as referenced below, the temple area is denoted with green color, meaning the temple area is very well protected by the helmet. Unfortunately, it seems like LS2 has stopped offering FF386. Some of my riding buddies asked me for a recommendation regarding SMK Gullwing (modular/flip-up helmet), and it was hard for me to recommend as it neither has a SHARP rating nor is as well-made as the LS2 FF386.
